Increasing your sensitivity to other people's Ki
Breathing into your hara and bringing Ki flow into the hands also increase awareness of the aura or energy field that externally surrounds the body. You may wish to develop this awareness further to sense the aura around another person. After rubbing and/or shaking the hands, move one hand around the head, shoulder and upper body of your partner, who can be sitting. Make sure that you are relaxed. Again experiment with distance, and close the eyes if this helps. At a certain distance you may notice the sensation of entering the energy 'field'. Try this with different people - the strength and quality of aura varies hugely from person to person, and even over time. You may find that one of your own hands is naturally rather more sensitive than the other. With practice, you may find that certain parts of the aura are more intense or weaker than others, indicating areas of the body that may be holding an excess, or deficiency, of energy, which you can then take into account during your treatment.
